about

These are collaborations from the first 6 years of the millennium. Armed with a computer and whatever software I could find, a pile of instruments and some drum sounds, I set out to make some "hip hop". Some serious, some not so serious, some completely unserious.

At the time, I was playing guitar in country hip-hop band and also dropping in on freestyle hip hop open mics to listen or play. So a lot of these may sound more like a band than a programmed track full of repeated samples. I'd also freely drop a guitar solo on these tracks, probably not making the emcees all that happy.

Samples are minimal, and, where sporadically used, from obscure sources like a old television documentaries or world music collections (like a Balkan wedding song).

Instruments used include:
- six-string guitars
- Cuban tres guitar
- banjo
- keyboards
- cumbus
- flute
- bass
- whistles
- sticks
- Moroccan drums
- bongoes
- saxophone
- bird calls
- found audio
- drum kit

about

Blindhead New York, New York

Blindhead is a NYC outfit that has morphed from electronica and hip-hop production to live instrumental pieces. Styles run from modern alterna-folk guitar-based rock to stoner rock to cinematic instrumental pieces that could fit a film or television show to straight up noise.

There's also some funk and some stoner rock.
Blindhead is Bryan Pocius.
